The procedure for copying keys is as follows:
1 Local mode, without connection to PC
- Insert the customer’ s original or sample key in the antenna housing and press the READ key. A message will appear on the display with the type and JMA reference of the original key’ s transponder, together with the type of transponder JMA recommends copying onto. This is valid for fixed code transponders. If the transponders are encrypted, the system will identify the transponder and its JMA reference and will indicate the procedure for activating the key, which is normally using our transponder manual.
- Then follow the procedure indicated by the machine. Take out the key and insert the new key to be cut, together with its corresponding transponder. An uncut ( non-machined) key should be inserted for cutting, as any swarf or burr adhered to the key could damage the machine antenna. Also make sure no swarf or metal particles fall into the antenna or circuits of the TRS-5000, as this could cause interference and the key will not be copied correctly.
- When the key has been cut, the machine will indicate whether a correct copy has been made or not.
- If you wish to make more than one copy of the same key, repeat the above steps, remember you should make the copy from the original key provided by the customer, and the “ base for copying” should be the transponder with the reference recommended by JMA.
2 Connected to a Computer ( Connected to PC Mode)
As we have mentioned previously, a CD is included with the unit containing an interface program for making copies of keys from the computer. The software installation procedure is described on the following page.
This PC or interface software offers the following advantages:
- The customer’ s data can be stored for making subsequent copies ( you will have a database of customers who have cut their keys in your establishment) .
- Attractive, easy-to-use Windows interface, compatible with all OS versions.
- You can choose the language you wish to work in.
- More than one key can be cut without needing to repeat the reading process.
- Fixed code transponder pre-loading can be done with a certain code, which can be adapted to your needs. | | |
